Prado Museum has launched Prado Guide for iPad, the first official app from the National Museum of Prado.La application provides an interactive and multi-touch, exclusively for iPad, with which to explore the museum.
The new app, which rises in the Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese (in late May will also be in German, Russian and Japanese), is the best tool to enjoy the experience from the Prado Museum anywhere in the world, to accompany and illustrate Museum visitors on their way, and to bring the collection to the public interest, students and lovers of art history.

Trace the journey through 400 works that portray the essence of the Prado Museum, accompanied by texts written by a team of specialists who report on the story told in the work, the artistic personality of its author, its importance in the overall collections and other items of interest.
400 essential works are captured in high-resolution images, sometimes including images of the rear of the triptychs and diptychs not visible in the showroom. Includes 50 masterpieces which expanded on browse and admire all the details with unusual closeness.
The application includes five thematic tours, tips to prepare for the visit, and even proposed to bring the museum to children in an entertaining way through themes like animals or princesses. Incorporates text selection options in favorites, search by index or index collections of artists, and the ability to share the tabs of the works on social networks like Facebook (NasdaqGS: FB – News) and Twitter.
